Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Novi, MI is seeking an experienced automotive technician to diagnose and repair prototype vehicle electrical and mechanical systems. You will fabricate components, install instrumentation, and maintain detailed records of work performed, supporting engineering tests and procedures.

The role requires 7+ years in automotive tech, EV/hybrid experience, HV knowledge, CAN/LIN networks, and strong mechanical aptitude. Occasional travel to proving grounds may be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional automotive technician experience.
• EV/Hybrid vehicle experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong automotive electrical knowledge.
• Understanding of zonal vehicle architecture.
• High-voltage electrical knowledge and training.
• Working knowledge of CAN/LIN communication networks.
• Fabrication and instrumentation experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Commercial Motor Vehicle and towing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Experience: 7+ Years

Maintain regular communication with the Garage Manager and lead technicians regarding workload, personnel, equipment issues, and operational needs.

• Diagnose and repair prototype vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
• Fabricate and/or modify prototype components and fixtures.
• Install vehicle instrumentation and test equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed.
• Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other prototype vehicle components in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and test procedures.
