Job summary

Napleton Kia is seeking an Automotive Service Technician for our Elmhurst location. You will perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards, while building trust with customers through effective communication and quality work.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, explaining repairs to customers, and staying current with factory bulletins and trainings. This role offers solid wages, paid training, and opportunities for advancement within a large dealership group.

Qualifications

• Automotive Service Technician experience required or preferred.
• ASE certification desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance as outlined on the repair order per dealer and factory standards.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals (employees/customers).
• Stay current with factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
• Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate
• Keeps store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur
• Maintains an organized work area

Job Requirements:

• Automotive Service Technician experience
• ASE certification desirable
• Excellent customer service
• Strong communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations
• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
