Job summary

Complete Landsculpture is seeking an Automotive Technician to join our shop team in Dallas. You will work under the Shop Manager, performing mechanical duties, maintaining fleet safety, and delivering quality workmanship and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a mechanical aptitude and be able to diagnose and repair vehicle systems.
  • Two years of prior experience with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience with oil changes, brakes and tires and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose HVAC, fuel, brake, ignition and electrical systems.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus; welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Attend safety meetings and apply safety practices on day-to-day tasks.
  • Work independently or as part of a team under supervision of Shop Manager.
  • Identify, report, or correct work hazards on job sites.
  • Operate and inspect gas-powered landscape equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Perform lockout/tagout on small equipment and earth moving equipment.
  • Coordinate work with departments and communicate clearly.
  • Inspect equipment and determine service and repair needs.
  • Perform repairs and routine maintenance on tools and equipment (Honda, Stihl, Kawasaki, Briggs & Stratton).
  • Maintain service schedules for skid steers, trenchers, and mini excavators.
  • Test equipment post-repair to verify proper function and safety.
  • Perform maintenance on trucks, trailers, equipment, and facility.
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance reports and ensure equipment runs safely.

Job Summary:

The Automotive Technician is responsible for working as a team member under the direct supervision of the Shop Manager. Responsible for completing mechanical duties in an efficient manner, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship.

Essential Job Functions:
  • 1. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry 50 pounds of material or equipment.
  • 2. Ability to stand, kneel and/or bend for a long period of time.
  • 3. Ability to withstand exposure to outside weather conditions: humidity, rain, hot and cold temperatures.
  • 4. Ability to see with or without corrective aids.
Job Requirements:
  • 1. Must be able to work a 5-day rotating schedule 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. May include weekends and holidays.
  • 2. Must be able to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • 3. Highly motivated, self-driven, and detailed oriented.
  • 4. Must be professional in appearance and actions.
  • 5. Maintain good attendance record as well as good punctuality.
  • 6. Always obey all company policies and all safety rules.
  • 7. Attention to detail is important; when it comes to maintaining our fleet we must be diligent at all times.
  • 8. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • 9. Must have and maintain a valid state issued driver's license as well as clear driving record and must pass a criminal background check.
  • 10. Must possess a mechanical aptitude, gas engine knowledge, and have 2 years prior experience working on vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • 11. Must have basic preventive maintenance experience; oil changes, brakes and tires.
  • 12. Must be able to diagnose & troubleshoot HVAC, fuel, brake, ignition & electrical systems.
  • 13. Bilingual a plus. (Spanish)
  • 14. Welding experience a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • 1. Attend training and safety meetings and apply the subject matter to day to day task.
  • 2. Follow all direction given Leadership Team Management.
  • 3. Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • 4. Always represent the company's best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
  • 5. Identify, correct or report work hazards on job sites.
  • 6. Operate and perform inspection and preventative maintenance on gas powered equipment used for landscape.
  • 7. Executes lock out / tag out procedures on small equipment and earth moving equipment.
  • 8. Communicate and coordinate work with departments.
  • 9. Inspect equipment to determine service & repair needs.
  • 10. Perform complete repair and overhaul functions, including routine maintenance services for small tools (electric & gas), Honda, Stihl, Kawasaki and Briggs & Stratton.
  • 11. Maintain and execute service schedules for all company equipment such as skid steers, ride on trenchers, and mini excavators.
  • 12. Test and operate equipment post-repair to verify proper function and ensure equipment does not return "Problem Not Fixed".
  • 13. Performing maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, equipment and facility.
  • 14. Maintain vehicle maintenance reports for all vehicles and insure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely at all times.
  • 15. Complete preventative maintenance, oil changes, and lubricate equipment.
  • 16. Perform minor preventive maintenance on facility; A/C filter, lights etc.
  • 17. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • 18. Perform emergency road repairs for vehicles and equipment.
  • 19. Perform other duties as assigned.
