Job summary

PM Landscaping Services is seeking an experienced In-House Mechanic to keep our vehicle fleet and landscape equipment running safely and reliably. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and machinery, coordinating with the operations team to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engine/electrical/hydraulic issues, servicing small engines, welding as needed, and maintaining logs and inventory. CDL preferred; CDL is not required to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic working on vehicles and/or landscape/outdoor power equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on vehicles and landscape equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, brake work, and tire repair/replacement.
• Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, hydraulic, and transmission issues on trucks and equipment.
• Service, sharpen, and balance mower blades and maintain small engines (mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws).
• Perform gas/arc welding repairs on equipment and attachments as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections and safety checks to ensure vehicles and machinery are in safe working order, including fleet compliance checks.
• Maintain service records and update maintenance logs for vehicles and equipment.
• Order and manage parts and supplies inventory.
• Work collaboratively with the operations and maintenance teams to schedule repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
• Operate and test repaired equipment to confirm proper function before returning it to service.
• Coordinate major repairs or overhauls beyond shop capability with outside repair vendors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Position Overview

PM Landscaping Services is looking for a skilled, dependable In-House Mechanic to keep our vehicle fleet and landscape equipment running safely and reliably. This role performs preventive maintenance and repairs — including engine, electrical, hydraulic, and small-engine work — on the trucks and machinery essential to daily maintenance and installation operations, working closely with the operations team to schedule repairs and minimize equipment downtime. Repairs or overhauls beyond in-house shop capability are coordinated with outside vendors.

• Working knowledge of engine, electrical, hydraulic, and small-engine repair
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Preferred

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Experience with gas/arc welding
• ASE certification or equivalent trade training
