Denning Companies, LLC in Chancellor, South Dakota is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and equipment. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and dependable performance in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck repair experience.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, drivetrain systems and electrical diagnostics.
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics and repair documentation.
• Actively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Service engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.

Denning Companies is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Chancellor, South Dakota. This hands-on position focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and equipment to keep our operation running safely and efficiently.

We're looking for a dependable technician who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work both independently and as part of a shop team.

Compensation & Benefits

• $24-$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule & Location

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Full-time position
• On-site in Chancellor, South Dakota

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Service engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Document repairs, labor, and parts used accurately.
• Communicate equipment concerns and recommended repairs to shop leadership.
• Assist with roadside repairs and emergency breakdowns as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We're Looking For

• Previous diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck repair experience; 2 or more years preferred.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, drivetrain systems, and electrical diagnostics.
• Ability to interpret service manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
• Technical or trade school training preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus but are not required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
