Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a passionate Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert in automotive systems and emerging vehicle technologies, translating complex concepts into technical training for dealership technicians.

Reporting to the Manager of Technical Training, you will research, design, develop, deliver and evaluate training programs, create instructor guides, storyboards, and hands-on demonstrations, and travel to regional training centers to validate content with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in: Automotive Technology, Engineering, Vocational Education Instructional Design (adult learning), or equivalent work experience in automotive training operations
• Strong automotive diagnostic skills
• Strong technical writing, editing and content development skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Strong presentation, facilitation and public speaking skills
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, deliver and evaluate various automotive technical training courses.
• Develop course outlines, timelines, storyboards, instructor guides, presentations and demonstrations.
• Coordinate with regional teams and stakeholders to gain consensus on content and learning objectives.
• Design competency-based ILT and engaging online training solutions and travel to training centers as needed.
• Develop and maintain core training materials, including worksheets, PowerPoint, graphics, videos and assessments.
