Job summary

Auto Hospitality Group is seeking a Director of Technical Training to build and lead technician development across our 14 automotive service locations in Houston, TX. This role is hands-on—not a corporate office position—and requires spending substantial time inside locations with technicians and managers.

You will own the training program, develop calendars, and drive ASE certification attainment while creating clear development paths for entry-level to advanced technicians.

Qualifications

• Must have ASE Master Certified and L1 Advanced Engine Performance
• Experience as automotive technician with real-world diagnostic/repair knowledge
• Experience in technician training, coaching, mentoring, or technical development
• Able to teach both in classroom and in a service bay
• Capable of explaining technical concepts in simple, practical terms

Responsibilities

• Build and lead company-wide technician training program across 14 locations
• Conduct hands-on and classroom-based technical training
• Develop training calendars based on shop needs
• Assist technicians toward ASE certifications and track progress
• Identify skill gaps and create development paths across career levels
• Collaborate with shop leadership to address training gaps
• Spend significant time on location with technicians and managers
• Leverage manufacturer, vendor, and third-party training resources
• Track certifications, training completion, and technician development
• Create practical, shop-ready training content
• Drive a culture of ongoing technician education and development
