The Postsecondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher is responsible for the instruction of designated postsecondary CTE content area(s)/course(s). The District expects all employees to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance, support the District’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan, engage in civility, respect, and professionalism, and maintain professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Communications: Express ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form, exhibit good listening and comprehension, keep others informed, and select appropriate communication methods.
Job Knowledge: Competent in required job skills and knowledge, exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills, keeps abreast of current developments, requires minimal supervision, displays understanding of how job relates to others, and uses resources effectively.
Judgment: Displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports and explains reasoning for decisions, includes appropriate people in the decision-making process, and makes timely decisions.
Project Management: Develops project plans, coordinates projects, communicates changes and progress, completes projects on time and on budget, and manages project team activities.
Planning & Organization: Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, plans for additional resources, integrates changes smoothly, sets goals and objectives, and works in an organized manner.
Eligibility for District Certificate required, including one of the following:
Reads, analyzes, and interprets all kinds of documents, responds to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or community, writes speeches and presents effectively to managers, the public, and school board.
Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry; applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Solves practical problems, deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization, interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Microsoft Office.
Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing. Lifting Demands: Up to 10 pounds. Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non‑dominant hand; overhead. Environmental Conditions: Noise intensity moderate.
