The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant performs skilled technical work in the use of physical and mental activities designed to habilitate or rehabilitate physically or psychologically disabled patients. The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides occupational treatment to the patients, using standardized procedures, under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist. Performance is evaluated by observation, results obtained, and review of reports.

Job Knowledge: Competent in required job skills and knowledge. Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills. Keeps abreast of current developments. Requires minimal supervision. Displays understanding of how job relates to others. Uses resources effectively.
Judgment: Displays willingness to make decisions. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. Supports and explains reasoning for decisions. Includes appropriate people in decision making process. Makes timely decisions.
Safety & Security: Observes safety and security procedures. Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines. Uses equipment and materials properly. Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
