Automotive Store Manager

At Midas, we are dedicated to providing quality services to customer vehicles in the areas of inspection, diagnosis, and repair, utilizing the expertise attained through ASE Certifications and/or years of automotive repair experience.

The Midas Store Manager is responsible for business operations and store performance, including safety, efficiencies, and profit/loss accountability. They promote customer satisfaction and retention, as well as growth of existing and new business. The Store Manager oversees overall operations in terms of cost control, inventory management, environmental compliance, and safety. They provide strong and consistent leadership to cultivate a harmonious, collaborative, and highly productive work culture.

We seek a seasoned manager with an entrepreneurial spirit who will assume responsibility for operations, financial performance, morale, and growth initiatives. The ideal candidate has a college degree or some coursework (preferred), three years of experience in the automotive repair industry, supervisory/management/mentoring experience, a background in continuous improvement, P&L experience, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct all automotive and general service technicians, including recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, scheduling, and coaching employees.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, listening and consulting with customers.
  • Follow up with customers regarding services requested, estimated completion times, etc.
  • Oversee vehicle inspections and make comprehensive recommendations, building computerized repair orders and sourcing parts.
  • Discuss pricing estimates with customers and promote shop service specials.
  • Lead, manage, and train the team while aligning with company vision, purpose, core values, and employee creed.
  • Oversee all sales, accounting, and clerical functions from Service Advisors.
  • Supervise technicians’ inspections, diagnosing, and repairing domestic, European, and Asian vehicles and light trucks.
  • Maintain inventory counts and be responsible for inventory losses.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the facility, including environmental compliance.
  • Manage employee payroll, record keeping of hours, and scheduling.
  • Update and submit daily sales reports to corporate.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of store or service manager experience.
  • General automotive knowledge.
  • Strong POS computer and internet skills.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license.
