Job summary

PNW Automotive in Astoria is looking for a General Service Technician to start with general automotive knowledge and grow into more advanced repair work. The role centers on precise vehicle inspections and documenting findings to support the shop, front office, and customers.

Responsibilities include oil/filter services, fluid checks, tire pressures, vehicle movement, lift positioning, and assisting technicians. The position offers a path for skill growth in a busy independent shop.

Qualifications

• General automotive knowledge is required.
• Careful attention to detail and vehicle condition.
• Ability to follow a process consistently, every time.
• Dependable attendance, arriving ready to work.
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• The ability to pass a drug test.
• The ability to safely lift tires, parts, and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles thoroughly with precise documentation and photos.
• Follow a consistent inspection process for every vehicle.
• Identify and flag issues before vehicles leave.
• Perform oil and filter services.
• Check and adjust fluid levels and tire pressures.
• Safely drive and move customer vehicles.
• Position and rack vehicles on lifts.
• Assist technicians with basic tasks.
• Keep vehicles, bays, tools, and common areas clean and organized.
• Support front office with vehicle flow, keys, parts, and customer shuttles.
• Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
