Job summary

Leeds West Groups in Des Moines, IA is seeking a General Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a range of vehicles. You will use diagnostic tools and follow OEM specifications while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires basic automotive knowledge, strong teamwork, and commitment to safety and quality. At least 18, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail repair environment are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Active driver's license required.
• No prohibitive background check; MVR may be required.
• Basic automotive diagnostic and repair knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, filters).
• Inspect vehicles for maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Complete repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Use diagnostic tools and manuals to troubleshoot problems.
• Ensure work meets OEM specs and safety standards.
• Conduct test drives and communicate results to customers and staff.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain clean, organized workspace.
• Assist in coordinating workflow with team and management.
