Job summary

Napleton Toyota of Urbana is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles, ensuring adherence to dealer and factory standards. The role emphasizes building customer loyalty through trust and transparent communication.

Qualifications

• Automotive Service Technician experience required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Valid Driver’s License; background check and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance per repair order and factory standards.
• Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs; explain diagnoses clearly to customers.
• Stay updated with factory technical bulletins and participate in training when possible.
• Maintain an organized work area and report repair issues to management.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
• Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate
• Keeps store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur
• Maintains an organized work area
• Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

• Automotive Service Technician experience
• ASE certification desirable
• Excellent customer service
• Strong communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen in accordance with local law/regulations
• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
