Job summary

Sonic Automotive, a Fortune 500 automotive group, is hiring an Automotive Service Technician at Lone Star Chevrolet in Texas. The role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles to dealer and factory standards, from engine work to routine maintenance.

You’ll test drive after repairs and coordinate with parts and service advisors to ensure timely, quality service. Requirements include 2+ years as a technician, dealership experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to pass pre-employment

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician.
Must have previous dealership experience.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test, and a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

Perform a thorough inspection of vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, or diagnostic issues.
Carry out repairs based on diagnosed issues including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, and HVAC work.
Take vehicles on test drives to evaluate repairs and ensure proper function after service.
Replace or repair components such as spark plugs, filters, brakes, belts, and hoses.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Notify the service advisor if additional work is unnecessary or cannot be completed on time.
Communicate with parts to procure required parts and keep customers informed.
