Job summary

Pep Boys in Skokie, IL is seeking an energetic Customer Service Associate to engage customers on the sales floor, at the service desk, and at the register. You will leverage product knowledge to suggest parts and services, schedule appointments, and help ensure customers leave with the right solutions for peak vehicle performance.

Ideal candidates bring a year of sales or service experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• One year of related experience in automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Ability to calculate commissions and discounts with basic math.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for customers by phone or in-store.
• Engage customers, schedule appointments, and upsell parts and service.
• Manage service desk, work orders, and register transactions.
• Follow policies on cash, credit, refunds and returns.
• Perform express automotive services and basic vehicle inspections.
• Maintain safe, organized, and clean shop environment.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers.
• Assist in opening/closing duties and daily store operations.
