Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Manager-in-Training in Lowell, MA to learn VIP’s culture and management processes and lead a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The role focuses on safety, team development, and compliance with all policies and standards.

You will hire, train, and schedule staff, oversee daily operations, and coordinate with management to meet VIP programs and service standards. ASE certifications and a valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong people management and leadership skills, motivational, supportive, assertive, and decisive.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Sound business sense, with the ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, and implement solutions.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• A comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry.
• Two years related experience in automotive service management.
• Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence.
• ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended.
• ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended.
• State Inspection License Required (where applicable)

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace safety is Priority #1 and follow safety policies.
• Learn VIP’s processes and build an extraordinary team.
• Hire the best associates and develop a superior team.
• Schedule the team to meet customer needs during all hours of operation.
• Communicate with the team via daily huddles and store meetings.
• Train and deliver the 5 for 5 process to educate customers about vehicle conditions.
• Dispatch work orders to technicians using the first available qualified technician.
• Attend off-site meetings and training sessions several times per year.
• Enforce strict compliance with the service Code of Ethics and regulations.
• Communicate with management to ensure compliance with policies.
