Job summary

Midas - Touch of Gold is seeking an Automotive Managers in Training/Service Writer. This store-manager developmental role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, handling service sales, and learning to manage appointments and interactions with customers.

The position is oriented toward grooming internal talent for store management, with training provided to handle pricing estimates, communicate with customers, and oversee technicians while maintaining a clean, efficient facility.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of store or service manager experience is preferred but not required.
• General automotive knowledge.
• Excellent customer service disposition.
• Good communication skills.
• Leadership ability.
• Team building skills.
• Ability to follow directions & process.
• Ability to use computers & software.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while listening to and consulting customers.
• Following up with customers, services requested, estimated completion times etc.
• Oversee complete vehicle inspections and then make comprehensive recommendations—building computerized repair orders and sourcing parts.
• Deliver and discuss pricing estimates with customers as well as promoting shop service specials.
• Oversee technicians’ inspections, diagnosing and repairing of domestic, European and Asian cars and light trucks.
• Maintain inventory counts.
• Overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.
• Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and very basic technician jobs.
• Other duties as assigned.
