Job summary

McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago is seeking a motivated Automotive Service Advisor to join our high-volume service department. This position offers the opportunity to earn $100,000+ per year and includes salary plus commission with paid training.

Previous dealership Service Advisor experience is preferred but not required; we provide training for the right candidate. Benefits include PTO, 401(k) with match, health and dental insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• Prior automotive dealership Service Advisor experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service, communication, and sales abilities.
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Comfortable with dealership systems and computers.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy service area.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for service customers.
• Greet customers and discuss vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
• Explain recommended services, options, pricing and timelines.
• Prepare and manage repair orders through the service process.
• Communicate customer concerns to technicians clearly.
• Keep customers updated on progress and changes to costs or times.
• Present maintenance and repair recommendations professionally.
• Schedule service appointments and answer questions.
• Follow vehicles from write-up to completion and delivery.
• Ensure completed work meets customer expectations.
• Resolve questions or concerns professionally.
• Maintain knowledge of dealership services and promotions.
• Build lasting customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
