Vern Eide Honda in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Automotive Service Advisor to ensure an exceptional customer experience from arrival through vehicle completion. You will communicate with customers to understand needs, manage repair requests, and liaise with technicians to ensure timely service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in automotive customer service.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in service management software and basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them with inquiries.
• Perform vehicle walk-around and document customer concerns to aid diagnosis.
• Determine automotive problems by listening to symptoms and inspecting vehicles.
• Prioritize services and follow up on future service needs.
• Maintain customer rapport by updating on times, costs and repairs.
• Schedule appointments and collect customer data prior to arrival.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance.
• Handle invoicing and payment processing for services rendered.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assist them with any inquiries.
• Perform vehicle walk-around and documentation of customer concerns to enable the technician to properly diagnose and service the vehicle.
• Determine automotive problems and services by listening to a customer's descriptions of symptoms, conducting inspections, performing vehicle walk-around, taking test drives, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules.
• Prioritize required services and ask for follow-up on future service considerations.
• Maintains customer rapport by keeping the customer informed on completion times, service expenses, possible changes, work performed, and repair order charges.
• Schedule appointments and obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
• Advise customers on the care and maintenance of their vehicles
• Know the product well enough to answer characteristic and operational questions regarding the customer’s vehicle.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing a positive experience
• Handle invoicing and payment processing for services rendered
• Maintain a professional appearance.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus
• Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer service role, ideally in the automotive industry
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple clients and projectsKnowledge of automotive repair and service terminology
• Proficiency in service management software and basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
