Job summary

Walker-Products-Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer – R&D to apply electronics principles for developing and documenting electronic systems for engine management components. You will generate PCBs, schematics, and layouts, while ensuring device reliability and documentation quality for testing and production.

The role includes collaboration with design teams, design reviews, and test automation using PLCs and microcontrollers. A strong hands-on background in electrical design is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering is preferred, with emphasis on hands-on electronics design.
• Solid grounding in electrical design principles and best practices.
• Ability to generate documentation and designs accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Meet with design teams to determine electronics applications and requirements.
• Produce high quality work meeting design parameters and efficiency expectations.
• Create accurate schematics and PCBs using schematic and PCB layout tools.
• Design well-ordered electrical sub-systems to component level.
• Evaluate and modify circuitry/systems for vehicle sensor components.
• Design/assist PLC and microcontroller designs to enable test automation.
• Research and develop test evaluation criteria for engine management components.
• Develop design reviews with team and stakeholders at key milestones.
• Collaborate with design team to address concerns and share best practices.
• Produce spreadsheets to analyze data and share results.
• Generate detailed procedures, diagrams, and documentation as needed.
• Support sensor design and test issues with content-area expertise.
• Utilize feedback to upgrade or repair existing machines as appropriate.
• Stay current on technology trends and engineering best practices.
• Ensure products are user-friendly and safe, complying with safety standards.
• Continuously improve efficiency and accuracy in tasks.
