Job summary

Big O Tires is seeking a customer-focused Sales Consultant to provide friendly, accurate service and promote tire and automotive products. You will handle sales transactions, assist customers with vehicle maintenance needs, and support store operations while upholding company policies and standards.

The role requires strong communication, basic math skills, and a willingness to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends. A valid driver’s license and US work authorization are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Age 18 years or older.
• Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
• Ability to operate a computer and office productivity tools.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Sales abilities.
• Ability to perform basic math including sums, percentages, and making change.
• Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after hours as needed.
• Ability and willingness to handle hazardous materials.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
• Willingness to comply with PPE regulations.
• Vision, hearing, and speech; ability to detect odors.
• Stand or drive up to nine hours per shift.
• Ability to move and lift items up to 75 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, speak English for customer communication.
• Ability to meet pre-employment screenings.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the customer service area and greet buyers.
• Handle complaints courteously per policy.
• Inspect vehicles and discuss maintenance needs with customers.
• Explain benefits of products and services to promote sales.
• Prepare warranties, service agreements, and tire sales records.
• Complete sales transactions accurately and report discrepancies.
• Support store manager to meet company targets and ticket averages.
• Assist with opening/closing, inventory, merchandising, and reporting.
• Maintain clean facilities and stock shelves to Big O Tires standards.
• Safely operate customer vehicles in service areas.
• Assist in training new employees as needed.
• Complete required training like Today’s Class Technician.
