The Automotive Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the sales operations of the dealership. This role involves leading a team of sales associates, developing strategies to drive sales, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of automotive sales, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor sales associates to improve performance and achieve sales goals.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and motivate the team to maintain high morale and productivity.

Sales Strategy And Execution

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve dealership targets and maximize revenue.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Set sales targets and performance goals for the team and track progress against these objectives.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Foster long-term relationships with customers, encourage repeat business, and referrals.

Inventory And Product Management

  • Monitor and manage the dealership’s inventory to align with market demand and sales targets.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure a diverse and appealing inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and adjust stock levels as needed.

Sales Reporting And Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze sales reports, including daily, monthly, and annual performance metrics.
  • Use data to identify trends, measure performance, and make informed business decisions.
  • Report on sales activities, customer feedback, and market conditions to upper management.

Financial Management

  • Customer Financing & Insurance: Offer vehicle financing and insurance options to customers, explaining aftermarket products, extended warranties, and dealership service procedures clearly and thoroughly.
  • Documentation Preparation: Prepare and process all necessary state and federal documents related to vehicle purchases in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Lender Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with lending institutions to ensure access to competitive financing programs and interest rates.

Compliance And Best Practices

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with dealership policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on automotive industry trends and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Sales Manager with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of automotive sales processes, customer service, and market dynamics (Nissan Preferred)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other sales tools.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods may be required.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of materials related to the role.

Education

  • High School Diploma Required
