Job summary

Genuine Parts Company, NAPA Retail, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to apply automotive knowledge and leadership to operate the store and drive customer satisfaction. You will support the Store Manager across all store functions while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities.

This role has oversight of counter sales, inventory/receiving, delivery coordination, housekeeping, and other operational tasks, coaching team members to maintain standards, coverage, and continuity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long term relationships.
• Thrive in a fast paced, complex environment.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs in some situations.
• Background and/or passion for automotive industry or related fields.
• Experience in a parts store, automotive service, or retail leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, and labor/scheduling alignment.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across channels (in-store, phone, dealer calls).
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting).
• Handle or support scheduling, compliance, performance tracking, and basic P&L awareness items.
• Monitor store metrics and drive improvements in sales, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
