Job summary

MS Companies is seeking an Assistant Quality Manager to lead daily quality operations in automotive manufacturing. You will oversee quality teams, support customer quality requirements, manage sorting and containment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This role demands strong leadership and hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing in fast-paced environments. Work closely with the Quality Manager, supervisors, and customers to ensure quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing, quality, or production environments.
• Strong leadership and employee development skills.
• Experience managing quality teams, supervisors, and inspection personnel.
• Experience with sorting, containment, and customer quality issue resolution.
• Root cause analysis methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D).
• Understanding of quality processes, documentation, and manufacturing standards.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, manage performance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other technology systems.
• English reading/writing to follow work instructions and documentation.
• Authorized to work in the United States of America.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily quality operations and supervise quality teams.
• Serve as liaison between MS Companies and customers on quality performance and requirements.
• Support new program launches with implementation of quality processes on-site.
• Manage sorting and containment for timely quality resolution.
• Lead containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for customer complaints.
• Ensure procedures and documentation align with customer requirements.
• Analyze quality and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop solutions to improve quality, productivity, and performance.
• Drive Lean and quality tools for continuous improvement.
• Maintain communication with internal teams and external customers via reporting.
• Support P&L awareness, labor utilization, and cost-control measures.
• Travel to multiple customer sites as needed.
• Assist Quality Manager with daily planning and coaching of teams.
• Lead and develop quality personnel.
• Ensure teams follow procedures and policies.
• Support preventative quality activities and audits.
• Identify opportunities to prevent recurring issues.
• Take on special projects as assigned.
