Job summary

ACV Auctions, a technology-driven marketplace for used vehicles, is looking for an enthusiastic Inspector to join our growing team in Charlotte. You will inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease locations, document condition reports, and help our sales team present accurate condition details to buyers on the platform.

You should be comfortable working outdoors, have a valid driver's license, and be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the automobile field with customer service
• Fluent English reading, writing and speaking
• Work outdoors in varying weather
• Problem solving with resourcefulness
• Able to work independently and in a team
• Excellent communication to understand customer needs
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
• Familiar with basic software and web apps
• Physical ability: stand, lift 25 lbs+, bend
• Ability to drive manual and automatic transmission
• Vision to identify small vehicle defects

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage and mechanical problems.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products
• Interface regularly with our dealers to develop client satisfaction and relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• Take multiple photos and upload them to the image server using the company app.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
