Job summary

TAC Manufacturing, Inc. in Jackson, MI is seeking a Launch Quality Engineer to lead APQP/PPAP activities for automotive components. You will collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and customers to define quality requirements and drive containment and corrective actions during launches.

The role requires experience with AIAG Core Tools, DFMEA/PFMEA, MSA/Gage R&R, and strong communication and project management skills. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent automotive launch experience.
• Experience with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
• Familiarity with CMM programming, DOE, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Strong communication, project management, and customer-facing skills.
• Experience supporting zero-defect launches in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP activities for new product introductions aligned with customer expectations and internal standards.
• Manage PPAP submissions and launch readiness documentation for tooling and components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, suppliers, and customers on quality requirements.
• Conduct DFMEA/PFMEA and develop robust Control Plans for launch programs.
• Perform MSA and Gage R&R to ensure inspection reliability.
• Lead dimensional tooling reviews and support validation of tooling processes.
• Utilize GD&T and interpret engineering drawings to support launch quality activities.
• Drive containment plans, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Develop inspection criteria, work instructions, and quality check procedures.
• Report program status, risks, and countermeasures to leadership and customers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office for project tracking and reporting.
