Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Electrical Engineer with advanced degrees to lead hardware design for automotive power converters. You will select topologies, optimize circuits, and work closely with systems, control, software, and test engineers to validate designs.

The role requires hands-on experience with WBG devices, gate drivers, magnetics, DSP/MCU, PMIC/SBC, and CAD tools, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while collaborating with suppliers to boost robustness and performance.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or PhD (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 3+ years of working experience in power converter hardware design and development.
  • Deep understanding of high-power conversion topologies (PFC, LLC, DAB DC/DC, etc.) and switching details.
  • Proficient in circuit/signal simulation using tools like PSPICE, PLECS or Simulink.
  • Extensive experience with WBG devices, gate drivers, magnetics, DSP/MCU, PMIC/SBC, and communication interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Topology selection, circuit design and optimization of power conversion modules.
  • Select critical components (WBG MOSFETs, magnetics, capacitors) for performance and cost.
  • Collaborate with systems, control, software and test engineers to validate hardware design.
  • Ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards for automotive systems.
  • Engage with power-conversion module suppliers to improve robustness and performance.
  • Provide technical support to resolve customer concerns and troubleshoot faults.
