Job summary

Stellantis N.V. in Auburn, Alabama seeks a Power Electronics Design and Release Engineer (DRE) to lead design, development, validation, and release of power electronics components for electrified vehicle applications. You will ensure performance, quality, cost, and timing objectives are met.

You will collaborate with SMEs, define DVP&R, support supplier and manufacturing teams, perform failure analyses, and track progress across development, verification, and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with high‑voltage/power electronics.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, protocols and standards.
• Hands-on experience in applications engineering and product design/development.
• Experience developing and executing DFMEA, DVP&R, and validation plans.
• Proficient in power electronics analysis and simulation tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a cross‑functional team and interface with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with SMEs to develop cost-effective PECs using advanced tech and test equipment.
• Define and develop DVP&R and execute all required development and verification testing.
• Support creation of component specs from vehicle, system, and software requirements.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure designs meet Stellantis’ requirements.
• Participate in supplier technical assessments with SMEs.
• Conduct post‑test inspection reviews and detailed failure analyses; recommend changes.
• Track progress of development, verification, and production activities internally and externally.
• Assist in reporting component development progress at team and program reviews.
