Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our NAPA retail store in North Carolina. You will support the Store Manager in all store functions while maintaining customer-facing sales responsibilities.

The role develops toward Store Manager responsibilities, with potential overtime and keyholder duties opening/closing the store. You will coach team members and ensure continuity and standards across operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade courses are a plus.
• Experience in automotive after-market or willingness to learn automotive domain.
• Leadership experience in a retail or service environment.
• Customer-centric approach with a focus on long-term relationships.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, complex retail setting.
• Experience with cataloging or inventory systems is preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• NAPA Know How familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales, inventory health and labor scheduling.
• Actively sell and build relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors and customer service standards.
• Execute opening/closing routines including security and cash reconciliation.
• Handle administrative tasks like scheduling, compliance, and performance tracking.
• Monitor store metrics and uncover trends for problem solving.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to store team.
• Support talent development and succession planning.
• Drive safety, asset protection and continuous improvement initiatives.
