Job summary

Summit Polymers seeks an Engineer, Manufacturing (Paint) to lead the robotic painting and manufacture of injection-molded plastic parts for automotive interior trim. You will provide technical leadership to production teams and drive operational excellence, safety, and quality across the paint processes.

Responsibilities include developing robust robot programs with ABB or Fanuc for 1K/2K systems, collaborating with suppliers, and writing standardized work instructions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent automotive/paint experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Analytical and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred: automotive paint experience and robot programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead paint-related programs for new product launches.
• Support daily operation of paint spray booths and robot programs.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean methods and 5-Why.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure paint quality and throughput.
