Job summary

Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward, Alaska, is seeking a Mechanic, Automotive, Advanced Journey/Lead to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a range of heavy and light duty vehicles in the facility's motor pool. You will work under the Maintenance Foreman and may supervise tasks in the garage, fuel systems, and security equipment.

Candidates should understand safety practices, read manuals, operate diagnostic tools, and possess the ability to train others.

Qualifications

• Experience resolving unusual issues, troubleshooting electronic/mechanical systems, or directing others on complex projects.
• Ability to read and apply technical manuals, regulations and English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot heavy and light duty vehicles in the Motor Pool.
• Perform maintenance in facilities areas including overhead doors and security gates.
• Record keeping on fuel systems and underground storage tanks; snow removal as needed.
