The State Equipment Fleet in Alaska is seeking a Mechanic, Automotive, Advanced Journey/Lead to help keep Alaska moving. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of state vehicles and equipment, with emphasis on transmissions, engines, and emission systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machines and tools; repair and maintenance.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and information.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle engines, parts, and systems.
• Strong initiative and minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain light duty equipment and vehicles for roads, airports, and other state vehicles.
• Diagnose and perform routine and specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Identify parts and materials, order from manuals, and document time and materials.
• Diagnose, maintain, repair, and modify transmissions, drive trains, suspension, engines, and emission systems.
