Qualifications

In this position, you will focus on maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles and equipment used for transportation work. The work you will do supports safe operation, reliable equipment performance, and strong teamwork. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

• System Maintenance: Inspect and service engines, brakes, steering systems, and other major components
• Vehicle Repairs: Fix and replace parts such as transmissions, clutches, electrical components, and cooling systems
• Diagnostic Work: Use testing tools to identify mechanical problems and select proper repair methods
• State Inspections: Carry out official safety and emissions checks and complete required inspection records
• Equipment Support: Maintain hand tools and powered equipment and report missing or damaged items

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Work hours are subject to change due to weather and seasonal requirements.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,819 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
• Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a current and valid Pennsylvania Class C driver's license.
• This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
