Responsibilities

• Prepare instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Direct the preparation of and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine material availability and prepare market analysis reports.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
• Design and develop systems and procedures to implement purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control and traffic.
• Formulate plant purchasing procedures consistent with policies.
• Develop procedures for supplier parts to improve timeliness of delivery.
• Develop and implement visual inventory management systems on the production floor.
• Maintain purchased materials inventories to assure availability for production.
• Set guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings.
• Assist in developing inventory budgets and guiding inventory management.
• Develop procedures for engineering changes during model year for plant and suppliers.
• Assist Plant Engineering and Plant Quality Manager in Vendor QA program.
• Resolve disposition of substandard or rejected materials.
• Coordinate product changes to ensure timely start-up of production.
• Ensure supplies are delivered on time to maintain uninterrupted production and shipment.
• Adopt computer technology to support manufacturing and on-time delivery.
• Maintain BOM and databases to support manufacturing software.
• Utilize continuous improvement methods.
• Comply with safety policies and procedures.
