Responsibilities

• Prepare instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Direct preparation and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions for material availability and prepare market analyses.
• Review purchase orders and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Arrange disposal of surplus materials.
• Design systems and procedures for purchasing, scheduling, inventory control and traffic.
• Develop plant purchasing procedures aligned with policies.
• Develop supplier requirements to improve delivery timeliness.
• Implement visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintain inventories to ensure availability of materials and parts.
• Set guidelines with suppliers to improve efficiency and cost savings.
