Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent experience in automotive manufacturing.

• Ability to communicate to a diverse audience (customers, suppliers, employees).
• Results oriented approach with broad supply chain management knowledge.
• Strong ERP knowledge and PC software skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Direct the preparation of and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
• Review purchase orders and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Arrange disposal of surplus materials.
• Design and develop systems to implement purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control and traffic for uninterrupted flow of materials.
• Establish plant purchasing procedures aligned with policies and procedures.
• Develop supplier requirements to improve delivery timeliness.
• Implement visual inventory management on the production floor.
• Maintain inventories to assure availability of materials for production.
• Set guidelines with suppliers to improve cost savings and steady flow of materials.
• Assist in inventory budget development and management guidance.
• Develop procedures to handle engineering changes during the model year.
• Assist Plant Engineering and Plant Quality Manager in Vendor QA.
• Resolve disposition of substandard materials.
• Coordinate product changes to insure timely start-up.
• Ensure supplies are delivered on time for uninterrupted production.
• Adopt computer technology to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain Bill of Material databases supporting manufacturing system software.
• Apply continuous improvement methods.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
