Job summary

AutoNation in the United States is seeking a Master Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance to dealer and factory standards, building trust and ensuring customer confidence in our care. You will diagnose issues, conduct multi-point inspections, and document work to keep vehicles safe and reliable.

In this role, you will communicate with the Parts Department and Service Advisors, stay current with factory training, and have a clear path for growth across Service, Sales, Management,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training (store needs vary).
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance per repair order with efficiency and accuracy, per dealer/factory standards.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and repair if authorized by customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make safety/reliability recommendations.
• Document all work on the repair order.
• Maintain inventory of tools not normally stocked by Service, and stay current with factory bulletins.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license

• A passion for cars and customer service

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.

• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.

• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.

• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.

• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.

• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”

• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.

• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

• High School diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician

• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)

• Attention to detail

• Organization and follow-up skills

• Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
