Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Master Technician to repair and maintain vehicles to dealer and factory standards, building trust with customers about safety and reliability. You will communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production and ensure clear customer updates.

The role offers paid training, OEM certification support, and opportunities to advance into Service, Sales, Management, and regional roles across our nationwide network. A strong customer focus is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs).
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance as outlined on the repair order to dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate with the Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of tools considered 'special tools'.
• Keep abreast of factory bulletins and participate in training classes.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid driver’s license

What are the day‑to‑day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.


• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.


• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.


• Conducting multi‑point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.


• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.


• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”


• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory‑sponsored training classes as appropriate.


• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
