Job summary

Quirk Auto Dealers in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician for our busy Service Department. Compensation is based on experience and location. The role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicles, testing components, and communicating estimates to the Service Advisor.

Qualifications

• Experience using diagnostic equipment and service tools.
• Ability to test-drive vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification.
• Knowledge of automotive systems: engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, A/C.
• Ability to provide estimates for additional repairs.
• Willingness to stay current with technical bulletins, recalls, and new technology.

Position Overview

• Use Diagnostic Equipment and Special Service tools to test vehicle components
• Test‑driving vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification
• Diagnose vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, air conditioning, etc
• Provide the Service Advisor with an estimate of any additional repairs needed
• Stay current with technical bulletins, recalls, service procedures, and new technology.

Key Required Proficiencies

• Use Diagnostic Equipment and Special Service tools to test vehicle components
• Test‑driving vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification
• Diagnose vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, air conditioning, etc
• Provide the Service Advisor with an estimate of any additional repairs needed
• Stay current with technical bulletins, recalls, service procedures, and new technology.
