Job summary

Liberty Ford Vermilion is seeking a Lube Technician to join our service department in Vermilion, OH. The role offers training, support, and opportunities for career growth within the dealership.

Responsibilities include oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and inspections. A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates with prior automotive experience are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Valid driver’s license meeting insurability requirements.
• Minimum 2 years experience in automotive repair or as a lube tech.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes and routine maintenance services.
• Inspect vehicles and identify basic maintenance needs.
• Check and top off fluid levels.
• Rotate tires and perform basic tire services.
• Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow manufacturer and dealership procedures and communicate findings to service advisors.

What You'll Do

QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS

• Tools required to perform repairs and services.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to speak effectively.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to use a computer for reference and training/testing.

EDUCATION

• Education, training and/or state/national certifications should clearly demonstrate the possession of the knowledge and skills stated above.
• High School degree or equivalent preferred
• Valid Drivers license that meets dealership insurability requirements
• Trade or Vocational School certification

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2 years experience in automotive repair or service as a lube tech
• ASE certifications a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Walking/Standing for 6 to 8 hours in a shift
• Using hand and/or power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards
• Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching and climbing
• Lifting up to 70lbs.
• Possess physical and manual dexterity
