Job summary

Wickstrom Auto Group in Barrington, IL seeks a Lube Technician to join our Ford dealership team. You’ll perform oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections and routine maintenance across all makes and models, while upholding dealership standards and delivering friendly, clear customer service.

This role requires at least 2 years of automotive experience, the ability to explain repairs in plain language, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of automotive experience.
  • Must be a team player and communicate/problem solve to achieve department goals.
  • Automotive diagnostics and general familiarity with vehicle operating systems desirable.
  • Must have a driver's license and a commercially insurable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Perform regular scheduled maintenance on all makes and models.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
  • Basic maintenance including but not limited to: Tire rotations and Tire replacement, Brake Inspection, Fluid top off, Lubrication services, Batteries, Light bulbs, etc.
