Job summary

Diode Dynamics, a leading automotive LED lighting manufacturer in Missouri, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design high-performance lighting products and embedded systems. You will own electrical design, from LED drivers to power control systems, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative features and reliable products.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, integrating mechanical and electrical subassemblies, and supporting production through validation and release.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related degree.
• Experience with 12V electronics and/or automotive LED lighting systems.
• Experience with 8-bit microprocessors and C programming language.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer or similar software.
• Hands-on experience designing products, creating prototypes, and manufacturing support.
• Experience in low EMI PCB design is preferable.
• Automotive enthusiast or automotive industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical components for new products, including LED drivers and power control systems, with documentation (specs, schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams).
• Hardware and firmware design for embedded systems with analog/digital inputs and serial communication.
• Integrate subassemblies into prototypes and coordinate development through production release.
• Participate in APQP meetings to confirm goals, timeline, and resources.
• Provide feasibility feedback on ideas regarding cosmetics, quality, features, and performance.
• Support design-for-manufacturability, cost reductions, and status reporting to management.
