Job summary

Sharp Electronics Corporation USA is seeking a Design Release Engineer to lead the engineering release of Sharp LCD modules into GM systems, ensuring design alignment with cost, quality and timing targets. The role involves proactive issue resolution and close collaboration with program managers to meet milestones.

Responsibilities include releasing parts in GM ECR and GPDS systems, coordinating with Sharp Engineering on root cause analyses, and supporting prototypes and production updates.

Qualifications

• BSME or BSEE degree required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Unigraphics and Catia V5 is a plus.
• Knowledge of Team Center Engineering (TCe) is desired.

Responsibilities

• Release parts within the GM system using the ECR process.
• Collaborate with Sharp Engineering on root cause analysis and issue resolution.
• Approve component validation plans during development and track progress.
• Manage data transfer, math and drawing release within Sharp.
• Support prototype builds and vehicle sign-off activities.
