Job summary

Sharp Electronics Corporation seeks a Design Release Engineer to lead the engineering release of LCD modules into GM systems, ensuring design theme, cost, quality and timing targets are met.

Reporting to Sharp Engineering Manager and working with the Program Manager, you will release parts in GM ECR and GPDS systems, coordinate validation, and drive issue resolution with Sharp and GM teams. Position requires Warren, MI presence and Asia travel. Salary range shown reflects market.

Qualifications

• BSME or BSEE required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Automotive Industry.
• CAD tools: Unigraphics and Catia V5 (2D/3D math) a plus.
• Knowledge of Team Center Engineering (TCe) desired.
• Travel to Asia may be required.
• Three days/week reporting into GM in Warren, MI.

Responsibilities

• Release parts within the GM system using the ECR process.
• Collaborate with Sharp Engineering on root cause analysis and resolution.
• Approve component validation plans during development.
• Resolve validation concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Review and approve releases of components in Team Center Engineering (TCe).
• Support vehicle build and prototype signoff activities.
• Update vehicles with latest production intent components.
• Define system and hardware requirements.
• Interface with customers for packaging and part release requirements.
• Input data into GM systems (PRTS) and Sharp systems.
