Job summary

Systems Technology Group, Inc. (STG) is seeking a Latching System Release Engineer to work on vehicle handles, locks, and mechanisms for doors, hoods, and tailgates. You will lead design release, collaborate with Ford and suppliers, and drive manufacturing readiness through PPAP and DFMEAs.

The role emphasizes design, validation, and release activities, plus supplier engagement and cost/weight optimization across the product life cycle. On-site MI location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in design, development or launch of automotive mechanisms.
• Experience with automotive latching systems (doors, tailgate).
• CAD capable (CATIA/3DX); familiar with CAE tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead HLM system design and deliver regulatory, design rules, and functional deliverables.
• Manage HLM suppliers to meet cost, weight, quality, and timing targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate system interfaces at vehicle level.
• Release and update parts in FEDEBOM and WERS; sign-off CAD in Teamcenter.
