Job summary

HTC Global Services, Inc. seeks a Design & Release Engineer for automotive closures and mechanisms in Dearborn, MI. The role focuses on design, development, validation, release, and production support of handles, locks, and liftgates across vehicle closures.

You will lead system design, coordinate suppliers, perform design reviews, and ensure quality while controlling cost and weight throughout development and production. This is a fully onsite/hybrid role with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in design, development, or launch of automotive mechanisms.
• Experience with automotive latching systems and closure mechanisms.
• CAD capability using CATIA, 3DX, or Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with CAE tools and software.
• Ability to manage CAD and BOM structures across assembly and mass attributes.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven analysis skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Lead HLM system design and development to meet requirements and regulatory needs.
• Coordinate with suppliers to meet cost, weight, quality, and timing targets.
• Apply GPDS plans to deliver engineering activities on time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on vehicle-level systems.
• Review and sign off CAD in Teamcenter and manage releases.
• Develop and verify DFMEA, PPAP, and design documentation.
