Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (CVG) seeks a Lab Technician to support the Engineering Department with material, performance, and durability testing of windshield wiper systems for heavy‑duty trucks and fleet vehicles.

You will operate test equipment, document results, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. In this role you will set up tests, collect data, perform maintenance on lab instruments, and prepare data packages for internal review and customer presentations,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing or product testing lab.
• Ability to operate mechanical, electrical, and environmental test equipment.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel for data analysis).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and test standards.
• Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
• Good written and verbal communication, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor test equipment for wiper components and assemblies.
• Conduct material testing (hardness, tensile strength, abrasion, etc.) per ASTM/SAE standards.
• Perform weathering and UV exposure tests on materials.
• Document test parameters and results in notebooks and databases; compile summary reports.
• Photograph specimens and maintain chain-of-custody records.
• Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance on lab instruments.
• Prepare test plans, reports, and data packages for internal/customer use.
• Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate major repairs as needed.
