Job summary

Goken, headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, seeks an experienced engineer to support design and development activities in automotive interiors. The role leads the transition from support work to small-scale projects by managing part and process development and coordinating across teams.

The engineer will use CATIA for 3D models and 2D drawings, drive feasibility studies, and collaborate with offshore teams to meet cost, delivery, and quality targets. Mentoring is also expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ yrs experience designing Automotive Interiors.
• Preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing backgrounds.
• DFMEA, GD&T, DFM knowledge and experience.
• Experience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3-D models and 2D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities for large-scale product development, including feasibility studies, design using CATIA, layout reviews, drawings, and coordination with component units.
• Create concepts and specs that meet cost, delivery, accuracy and quality targets.
• Lead the transition from task-based work to small-scale projects, monitor progress, and escalate issues to management.
• Support management with project scope, scheduling, quoting and reporting for small-scale projects.
• Mentor and train team members.
• Identify ways to increase efficiency, leverage up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
