Job summary

Actalent in Auburn, AL is seeking an Injection Mold Process Engineer to develop and optimize injection molding processes for automotive components. You will collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, tooling, and program management to ensure safe, efficient, and capable molding operations.

The role focuses on reducing scrap and downtime, supporting new product launches, validating processes, and maintaining standardized parameters.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Manufacturing, or related field.
Minimum 3 years in injection molding or plastics manufacturing.
Experience with process development, tooling trials, and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with automotive quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Develop, establish, and optimize injection molding processes for quality automotive components.
Set and maintain molding parameters (injection pressure/speed, temperatures, cycle time).
Conduct process studies and trials to improve stability and efficiency.
Analyze defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Monitor performance to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime.
Maintain standardized molding processes and operating parameters.
Support production during interruptions and quality concerns.
