Job summary

Accumold in Ankeny, IA, seeks a Process Engineer to develop, validate, and support injection molding processes for new and existing components. You will apply scientific molding principles and work with Production, Tooling, Quality, and Design teams to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical processes.
• Five years manufacturing experience in plastic injection molding.
• Experience with resins and process validation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate robust molding processes.
• Lead IQ, OQ, and PQ activities and DOE studies.
• Optimize cycle time, scrap, and machine utilization.
• Evaluate resin behavior and processing windows for stable production.
• Partner with Tooling, Design, Quality, Production, and Project Engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot molding, tooling, material, and equipment issues using data-driven methods.
• Establish and maintain process parameters and work instructions for production.
• Respond to process-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze process data to monitor capability and identify improvements.
• Document mold performance, history, and recommendations for improvements.
• Interface with customers regarding process development and manufacturing requirements.
